A history of success - Our tradition is innovation

Today's Setra is descended from the Kässbohrer company of Ulm, Germany, a world innovator in motor coach design and manufacturing since 1911.

Kässbohrer invented the concept of integral design ("Setra" stands for "self-supporting" in German), developing the first buses and coaches with an integrated frame and floor that substantially saved on weight without sacrificing strength.

Since the 1950s, the Setra name has been recognized as a leader in motor coach quality, comfort, handling and design throughout Europe and the world. As part of Daimler Buses North America, Setra produces in excess of 3,000 coaches annually. Our products benefit from the vast resources of our parent company resulting in the highest quality and most reliable coaches on the road.
